Gordon Biersch

Gordon Biersch and Green House are partnering together to convert 2,000 tons of spent yeast annually to ethanol fuel, a cleaner burning alternative to gasoline.  The popular San Jose based brewer has long been looking for an environmentally friendly fuel source to generate power for its brewery and Green House's MicroFueler provides the perfect solution.

About Gordon Biersch

Founded in 1988 by Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch, the company opened the first Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant in Palo Alto with the goal of producing the most authentic German-style lagers outside of Germany at a time when craft brewing was just getting started. Gordon Biersch soon became a pioneer in introducing the brewery restaurant concept and producing award-winning lagers and distinguished foods, including its now-famous Gordon Biersch Garlic Fries™.

While the company has grown steadily over the years – expanding into 27 brewery restaurant locations throughout the U.S. and increasing production to 3.1 million gallons of Gordon Biersch beer each year – it has stayed true to its roots, brewing traditional German-style lagers in strict accordance with the German purity law known as Reinheitsgebot and using only the finest seasonal ingredients to create complementary menus.

Gordon Biersch beers are available at 27 upscale brewery restaurants across 14 states in the U.S.,9,000 locations, and 34 concession locations, including San Francisco’s AT&T Park and Chase Field in Phoenix. With a capacity of 3.1 million gallons of beer each year, the company is the largest brewery in the Bay Area. Continued expansion is planned through national distribution and new restaurant locations, including expansion into China with the first Gordon Biersch Restaurant in Taiwan, which opened June 9th.
